Sharia compliant security instruments have been available in the United States in the form of mutual funds for several years. Lately, a few ETFs and managed accounts have also appeared in the market. The founders of the company have been investing in those instruments for almost three decades.
Though those funds have offered great returns at times, they matched the major industry benchmarks at best. We felt that by carving the market by asset classes, the investor could achieve better returns albeit at a higher risk.
